"Megafon" is launching a project useful for residents of the Far North – a video surveillance system that will track the movement of bears. If predators approach people, the system will automatically notify emergency services.
The video signal from the territories bordering the forest is processed online by a neural network, which automatically notifies ecologists and emergency services if predators go beyond their natural habitat.
The project is being implemented by the operator jointly with the Russian company NtechLab, which specializes in solutions in the field of neural networks. The first system will be installed in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — this is the largest territory in Russia where brown bears live. In 2022 alone, 163 cases were recorded when predators came to residential areas.
