The head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, spoke about a major deal, under which all workplaces in government bodies in Tatarstan will be transferred to the Russian operating system Astra Linux. This will affect about 150 thousand workplaces.
Today we have confirmation of the largest deal in the regional digitalization market. The Republic of Tatarstan has signed an agreement to transfer all its workplaces in all government bodies to the Russian operating system Astra Linux.
It is not reported exactly when the transfer of PCs to the Russian OS will begin: the minister only said that it would happen "in the very near future".
Astra Linux is the most famous development of the Astra Group of Companies. The Astra software ecosystem also includes the RuPost corporate mail management system, the RuBackup backup solution, and the VMManager virtualization platform. Astra Linux is already used in the structures of Gazprom, Rosatom, Russian Railways and other Russian companies.
