Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, today shared his expectations regarding the launch of the Aurus Merlon electric motorcycle on the market. According to him, mass production is planned to begin by the end of 2024 - beginning of 2025. As part of the motorcades for officials, the motorcycle will appear on the roads even earlier - as early as May 2024, he said in an interview with the Russia-24 TV channel.

Preliminary technical characteristics of Aurus Merlon include an electric motor power of 140 kW at peak (190 hp), a battery capacity of 21 kWh and a range of up to 200 km. The maximum speed exceeds 200 km/h, and the acceleration time to 100 km/h is less than 4 seconds.

The motorcycle is designed for operation in the temperature range from - 25 to +40 degrees Celsius, and is also equipped with a number of functional features, such as a regenerative braking system, ABS, traction control assistant, heated seats and handles, electric adjustment of the windshield position and a touch electronic instrument panel.

The development of Aurus Merlon is headed by experienced chief designer Sergei Molodenov, whose profile includes work on projects such as Ducati 999 and Ducati Multistrada. The design of Aurus Merlon was carried out with the participation of specialists from Italy.
