ИИ в подарок к 1 сентября: Студентам МГПУ разрешили использовать Chat-GPT для написания дипломных работ

The university allows the use of chatbots and AI, but requires independent processing of the data obtained

Moscow City University (MSPU) has decided to allow students to use artificial intelligence technologies, including chatbots, in the process of preparing final qualifying works (VKR).

Students are allowed to use artificial intelligence to obtain textual information and data for their work. However, it is important to note that the borrowed material should be subject to further analysis and processing by students.

Rector of MSPU Igor Remorenko expressed confidence that the legalization of the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process will help students develop new skills. An important component of this process is the ability to analyze large amounts of data and verify it. Remorenko also noted that simply banning the use of AI is unlikely to be an effective solution.

We need common rules for using AI. Banning its use is the easiest way, but hardly effective

Disputes around the use of artificial intelligence in student works began after a case when a student of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) Alexander Zhdanov used the ChatGPT chatbot to write his thesis. After defending his diploma, for which the former student received a "satisfactory" mark, Zhdanov told "KommersantЪ", that 60 pages of the qualification work were generated by the neural network, while the originality was 70%. According to Zhdanov, after that, the university "began to receive complaints asking to deprive him of his diploma."

MSPU noted that the university is introducing strict rules to prevent direct copying using AI.
