In July of this year, S7 Group co-owner Vladislav Filev announced S7's own training aircraft, and now an image of the aircraft and photos from the workshops where it is being assembled have appeared. The new aircraft is called S7 Tango.
In this "Tango" you can "dance" together: inside there are seats for the commander, co-pilot and two passengers. The fuselage will be made of composite materials, and the engine is its own (developed by the Design Bureau in Rybinsk) - a six-cylinder piston engine. The propeller is imported, but over time it will be replaced, then localization will be close to 100%.
The maximum take-off weight of the S7 Tango will be 1150 kg, the maximum flight range is 1100 km.
In May of this year, the head of the flight operations department of Rosaviatsia said that 50% of the fleet of foreign aircraft in flight schools is faulty. The problem is primarily in the engines, but it is not possible to order new engines or even parts for the current ones due to sanctions.
S7 Tango can replace the retiring equipment in this segment, the main thing is that there is enough capacity to produce the aircraft in sufficient quantities.
