At the forum "Army-2023", which is taking place in the Moscow region, the rocket and space corporation "Energiya", the National Center for Physics and Mathematics and "Rusatom RDS" have signed a strategic partnership agreement on the Russian Orbital Station (ROS).
The creation of the ROS will involve "Rosatom" technologies, and the station itself will become a site for various experiments: with its help, they will solve fundamental and applied problems in artificial intelligence, cosmology, laser physics, supercomputer modeling, and experimental astrophysics.
Atomic technologies have always been developed alongside space ones. We continue this tradition, and it is important for us that the formation of the new space station takes place with Rosatom technologies. Along with the National Center for Physics and Mathematics and "Rusatom RDS", we plan to implement joint projects using the capabilities of the Russian Orbital Station, which is completely different from the ISS. It will go to another orbit, and with its help, we will get more opportunities to observe the Earth in conditions close to deep space. Our station is the next step in using space. We have a lot of applied tasks: from testing new space and atomic technologies to production in space.
Recall, the launch of the first module of the Russian Orbital Station - the science and energy one - is planned for the end of 2027. By 2030, ROS should acquire its final configuration of five modules.
