При создании Российской орбитальной станции будут использоваться технологии «Росатома»

The station itself will be used to solve fundamental and applied problems in various fields

At the Army-2023 forum, which is taking place in the Moscow region, the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia, the National Center for Physics and Mathematics, and Rusatom RDS have entered into a strategic partnership agreement on the Russian Orbital Station (ROS).

Rosatom technologies will be used in the creation of the ROS, and the station itself will become a testing ground for various experiments: it will be used to solve fundamental and applied problems in artificial intelligence, cosmology, laser physics, supercomputer modeling, and experimental astrophysics.

Nuclear technologies have always developed alongside space technologies. We are continuing this tradition, and it is important for us that the formation of the new space station takes place with Rosatom technologies. With the National Center for Physics and Mathematics and Rusatom RDS JSC, we plan to implement joint projects using the capabilities of the Russian Orbital Station, which is quite different from the ISS. It will enter a different orbit, and with its help, we will have more opportunities to observe the Earth in conditions closer to deep space. Our station is the next step in the use of space. We have many applied tasks ahead of us: from testing new space and nuclear technologies to production in space.
Deputy General Director for Programs and Strategy of RSC Energia, Vladimir Volik.

As a reminder, the launch of the first module of the Russian Orbital Station – the scientific and energy module – is planned for the end of 2027. The ROS should acquire its final configuration of five modules by 2030.
