The company «Roboavia» has presented a strike drone called «Surprise». The quadcopter is capable of carrying two 82-millimeter caliber mines.
The «Surprise» drone has a fairly decent payload — two 82-millimeter caliber mines. At the moment, we are testing this drone, which we plan to complete at the end of this year, and next year we will begin its mass production and delivery to the troops.
The drone can be folded and transported in a backpack, but its weight is considerable – 24 kg. The range of the drone in the strike version (that is, with attached mines) is 10 km, while it still has enough power to return to base.
However, it can also be used as a loitering munition if the priority or price of the target exceeds the damage from the loss of the aircraft. Then its one-way range is 20 kilometers.
Why is the drone called «Surprise»? The fact is that the drone flies at an altitude of 400 meters, and the enemy cannot see or hear it.
That is, the projectile arrives as if from nowhere.
The «Surprise» is equipped with a video camera, thermal imager, and a system for correcting the dropping of ammunition. The drone can be controlled both from a ground control station and simply with a joystick.
