Skoltech engineers have created the MorphoLander drone, which can not only fly, but also walk on the surface on four "legs". At the same time, in its upper part there are two platforms resembling mini-airfields – for two microdrones. The mass of the MorphoLander itself is 10 kg, the mass of microdrones is 27 grams.
The development is interesting, but not without drawbacks. For example, the drone carrier's battery lasts only 12 minutes. And it doesn't walk very confidently. Nevertheless, the creators believe that MorphoLander can be useful for inspecting various objects and for searching for victims during natural disasters.
Judging by the video, the MorphoLander itself is a hexacopter. The presence of six screws is explained by its decent mass.
