Aeroflot announced that its subsidiary, Aeroflot Technics, has carried out a unique repair operation for Russia: for the first time, the landing gear of a large Boeing 777 passenger aircraft was replaced.
The maintenance and repair provider Aeroflot Technics has successfully replaced the landing gear on a Boeing 777 aircraft. The procedure was performed for the first time in the Russian Federation.
The replacement was carried out at the Aeroflot Technics base in Sheremetyevo. The company explained that the replacement of landing gear is a planned operation and is carried out on Boeing 777 aircraft every 10 years or every 20,000 flight cycles, whichever comes first.
It took two weeks to replace the landing gear: not only the nose gear was replaced, but also the side gears. Control tests confirmed the normal operation of the new struts, and the aircraft has already entered regular flights.
And in the spring of this year, Aeroflot Technics successfully replaced the landing gear on an Airbus A330. These works were also carried out in Sheremetyevo.
