The newspaper "Krasnaya Zvezda" reported on the upcoming modernization of the Russian BMP-3 - the vehicle will receive a new fire control system and improved protection against drones and missiles.
The new fire control system features automatic target detection and selection. It will also be able to provide recommendations on the choice of projectile type and warn of the presence of tank-hazardous locations. The process of fire adjustment will also be simplified. New means of protection will make the vehicle less vulnerable to strike drones and American Javelin anti-tank guided missiles.
The BMP-3 has already been improved several times. In its current version, the vehicle has a complex of add-on protection, consisting of screen grids and armor plates. Previously, the BMP-3 received an improved mechanism for feeding shells into the gun, and the ammunition load included new high-explosive fragmentation ammunition with a maximum range of 7 kilometers.
