The Rybinsk Instrument-Making Plant (part of the Rostec's RosElectronics) created a portable radar station capable of detecting unmanned boats. Its weight does not exceed 25 kilograms with a rotating device and batteries.
The water surface does not create additional radio interference when working with this radar station. An amateur three-meter boat is guaranteed to be seen from a distance of six kilometers. This allows us to use such a station for protecting marine and river facilities from unauthorized penetration.
The chief editor of the magazine "Unmanned Aviation" Denis Fedutinov reported that such compact radar stations can be successfully used to protect from drone attacks from the sea of such facilities as the Crimean bridge and naval bases.
Because of their portability, they do not require additional infrastructure. At the same time, their range of detection of small surface objects of six kilometers at the previously stated maximum speed of Ukraine's sea drones of 43 knots will provide alarm to the corresponding security forces at least four minutes before contact. In addition, the radar will track the exact location of unmanned boats at any given time.
