The main designer of Zala Aero Group, Alexander Zakharov, spoke about the new generation of Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (also called a loitering munition) 'Lancet'. The designer believes that the new 'Lancet' will be nearly invulnerable.
The main thing is ease of use. Ease of use and almost complete independence from counter-measures. It will be almost impossible to fight it.
The designer reported that it is impossible to suppress the 'Lancet' with electronic warfare tools, as its 'computing loop' is located on board. The operator will define the area of operation of the drone, but it will choose the target itself.
And in this area, he says: "Only armor". Therefore, neither pickups nor people suffer. That is, it specifically looks for 'armor' or gun artillery. But there's accounting data know that air defense assets and radars are more expensive, so if it sees a tank and a radar at the same time, it'll choose the radar. And all this has already been tested.
Interesting point: according to the designer, 'Lancets' are currently being assembled in the building of a former shopping center that closed during the coronavirus pandemic.
