Kommersant, citing sources at Yadro and in the IT market, reported that Russian Yadro may present a smartphone under the Kvadra brand in 2024. The peculiarity of this device will be in the hardware platform.
"Even during the development and preparation for the release of the tablet [the Kvadra_T tablet was presented a month and a half ago]it was assumed that the next step would be a smartphone. Yadro expected that in the future it would run on its own RISC-V processor", - one of the interlocutors told Kommersant.
The publication reports that Kvadra intends to establish the production of processors based on the RISC architecture and corresponding printed circuit boards. But for this, the company will need unique specialists.
Currently, Yadro's assortment includes an all-in-one, a laptop, a tablet, and a PC. Earlier, the CEO of Yadro Client Systems (Kvadra), Dmitry Cherkasov, announced that the tablet presented in June will go on retail sale in the fall.
