The cartographic service "2GIS" has launched 3D maps with high detail, including meticulously drawn landmarks and trees. They are available for 11 cities of Russia: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Samara, Saratov, and Vologda.

"2GIS is moving to a new level of 3D map detail: now you can see the details of buildings and parks - down to what trees are in a particular square. Objects can be zoomed in and viewed from different sides. Depending on the time of day, the mode of displaying realistic models changes: like in a real city, they look different at night than during the day. Such maps create the effect of immersion and are called immersive", - told in the company.

In "2GIS" they added that the maps will be updated gradually, and over time there will be more detailed vegetation in the yards - on the maps you will be able to see the greening of streets, courtyards and private quarters. Finally, the changes in the maps will also affect the zoos in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk: in the place of the aviaries you can see icons with the image of animals that live there.
