Regular air service between Russia and Cuba has been restored – the first flight today departed from Sheremetyevo to Varadero. It is operated by the airline "Rossiya" on a Boeing-777 with a capacity of 457 passengers.
The official representative of the airline "Rossiya", Sergey Starikov, noted the high demand for tickets – despite the fact that their cost starts from 30 thousand rubles, and this is without baggage. The load of the first flight was almost 100%. The flight time between Moscow and Varadero is about 13 hours.
Flights will be operated twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, and from September there will be three flights weekly. It is important that tickets to Cuba can be purchased both independently and as part of a tour from "Biblio-Globus".
The Russia – Cuba air route is one of the oldest in the history of "Aeroflot". The first regular flight to Cuba was operated on July 10, 1962 on a Tu-114 aircraft. Air service with Cuba was interrupted in early 2022 due to sanctions against Russia.
