In Tatarstan, at Kamaz, before the meeting of the board of directors, delegations of the government of the Republic of Tatarstan and Rostec showed several new products, including the Moskvich 5, which was completely unexpected. This is a crossover that even Moskvich itself hasn't said a word about.
The Moskvich 5 was made according to the same principle as the Moskvich 3: they took the Chinese JAC crossover and changed the nameplates. In this case, the source was the JAC Sehol X6. And this is a fairly new model: in China, the crossover was released only last year.
There is no data on trim levels yet, but there is data on technical characteristics. The Moskvich 5 will be produced with 1.5-liter turbo engines with a capacity of 149 and 184 hp. In the second case, the engine has direct injection. The basic version will have a CVT, and the top version will have a 6-speed preselective robot.
It is already clear from the name that the Moskvich 5 will be larger than the Moskvich 3. The dimensions of the new item are 4505 x 1850 x 1698 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of the Moskvich 3 are 4410 x 1800 x 1660 mm.
