In Tatarstan, on KAMAZ before the board of directors meeting, delegations of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and "Rostec" were shown several novelties, among which was quite unexpectedly the "Moskvich 5". This is a crossover that even the "Moskvich" itself has not mentioned a word about.
The "Moskvich 5" was made on the same principle as the "Moskvich 3": they took a Chinese crossover JAC and changed the badges. In this case, the JAC Sehol X6 served as the source. And this is quite a new model: the crossover was only released in China last year.
Data on configurations are not yet available, but there are data on technical specifications. The "Moskvich 5" will be produced with 1.5-litre turbo engines with a power of 149 and 184 hp. In the second case, the engine has direct injection. The base version will have a variator, and the top-end version will have a 6-speed preselection "robot".
Just by the name, it is clear that the "Moskvich 5" will be bigger than the "Moskvich 3". Dimensions of the novelty are 4505 x 1850 x 1698 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of the "Moskvich 3" are 4410 x 1800 x 1660 mm.
