UAZ is testing its cars with a new diesel. This was announced by the company itself in the official public.
"The company plans to modernize the UAZ model range and equip them with a new two-liter diesel engine, the production of which will be localized in the Republic of Tatarstan. Moreover, diesel modifications are currently undergoing preliminary tests", - UAZ representatives said.
The discussion is, apparently, about a 2.0-liter 130-hp JAC engine, which is also installed on the Sollers Argo truck. By the way, at the end of last year, UAZ CEO Adil Shirinov announced a diesel engine and a 6-speed manual transmission in an interview with Kommersant. As you can see, UAZ keeps its word, although nothing was said about the new manual transmission at the moment.
