UAZ is testing its cars with a new diesel engine. This was reported by the company itself in its official public page.
"The company plans to modernize the UAZ model range and equip them with a new two-liter diesel engine, the production of which will be localized in the Republic of Tatarstan. Moreover, diesel modifications are already undergoing preliminary tests", - said representatives of UAZ.
Apparently, we are talking about a 2.0-liter 130-horsepower JAC engine, which is also installed on the Sollers Argo truck. By the way, at the end of last year, the General Director of UAZ, Adil Shirinov, in an interview with the Kommersant publication, announced a diesel engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox. As you can see, UAZ keeps its word, although nothing was said about the new manual transmission now.
