According to MashTech, Russian companies have begun to massively import base stations for cellular communication systems into the country. Moreover, the count is in the tens of thousands.
For example, Maxcomm has received certificates for the supply of up to 20,000 base stations from Finnish Nokia and components for them. In addition, in April, the import of components for 20,000 Ericsson AB base stations into Russia was declared: 10,000 Baseband 6630 KDV127621/11 and 10,000 Baseband 6630 KDU137848/11. It is noted that this amount of equipment is enough for the annual development of the network of one of the largest operators.
Each Nokia station costs 100,000 – 200,000 rubles, that is, the cost of the entire batch can be 2–4 billion rubles. The equipment of the Swedish company is estimated at $30–40 million. We are talking about stations for 2G, 3G and 4G networks, which are identical to those already used in the networks of Russian telecom operators.
Interestingly, equipment is supplied not only from friendly China and India, but also from Hungary, Poland, Finland, Estonia and other countries.
