The Russian Government has approved a Concept for the country's technological development until 2030 with funding of 3 trillion rubles (both public and private).

According to the plan, by the end of the third decade of the 21st century, Russia should have its own scientific, personnel and technological base of critical and cross-cutting technologies. The focus of the concept is the production of microelectronics, high-precision machines, robotics, unmanned aircraft, software, accelerators and detectors of charged particles.

The concept includes a reduction of the internal research and development costs by at least 45%, an increase in innovation activity, a 1.5-fold increase in innovation spending, a 2.4-fold increase in the number of patent applications.

The first step in implementing the concept will be the creation of a plan for priority actions, to be engaged by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
