In Moscow, an electric passenger minibus GAZelle e-City has been put to test. The minibus will run from "Metro "Ozernaya" to "Metro "Governovo" (route 883). It was decided to test it on a typical line for such transport: where there is no large throughput and narrow streets, not suitable for full-size electric buses.
The GAZelle e-City is equipped with a single electric motor with a peak power of 100 kW, it drives the rear wheels. There are two traction batteries, capacity - 81 kWh (range - about 150 km). The minibus equipment includes climate control, a video surveillance system, USB ports for charging passenger gadgets. Interestingly, the heater in the e-City is methane, and the cylinders are located inside the frame for safety reasons. This is done on purpose: in winter, the energy stored in the traction battery will not go to heat the cabin. By the way, the traction battery has heating, which is very important for the Russian climate.
