Air traffic between Georgia and Russia resumed this week, and soon, it will become significantly easier for Russians to fly to Cuba: the "Aeroflot" group has announced the resumption of regular flights to Cuba from July 1. The flights will be performed by the airline "Russia" (a subsidiary of "Aeroflot").
"Aeroflot is resuming regular flights to Cuba from July 1. Flights to the popular Cuban resort Varadero will be performed by the airline "Russia" on wide-body liners Boeing 777. Sales will be opened soon", - says in the message of "Aeroflot".
At first, flights will be performed twice a week, later their number may be increased depending on demand. Ticket sales will open next week.
The Russia - Cuba direction is one of the oldest in Aeroflot's history: the first flight took place on July 10, 1962, on the Tu-114 liner. Since then, air traffic between the countries was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and after the introduction of restrictions by unfriendly countries.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, Russia can increase the volume of tourist flow to Cuba to 500 thousand people per year.
