Mikhail Podvyaznikov, General Director of the Obukhov Plant (part of the Almaz-Antey concern), announced that the defense enterprise will invest 35-37 billion rubles in refitting the Russian Toyota plant as part of preparations for the production of new equipment.
"Approximately 35-37 billion rubles. These funds will be provided by the bank under a standard commercial loan. The repayment of the loan, I believe, will begin in seven years," - said Mikhail Podvyaznikov.
This new equipment will be the E-Neva electric crossover, mass production of which should begin in 2026, and the BAZ-S36A11 tractor. It also became known that from next year, the plant, which once produced the popular RAV4 and Camry in Russia, willlaunch the assembly of L-type microcars.
