Next year, Russia will begin preliminary design of a spacecraft for the first Russian Venusian mission, Venera-D. This was reported by Roscosmos.
«Currently, regarding the creation of the Venera-D space complex, the development of a technical proposal has been completed. The start of work on the development and release of the preliminary design is planned for January 2024», – the state corporation said. They clarified that at the moment, work schedules for the preliminary design are being developed and «a council of chief designers is being formed».
The Russian program for the study of Venus involves sending three probes, the first of which should be Venera-D. The next mission will be Venera-V, which we have already talked about.
