As reported by the Telegram channel "Black Monday", the first container train has left Chelyabinsk for India. It will follow the North — South corridor through Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to one of the ports of Iran, and from there by sea to India. The containers from Russia contain non-ferrous metals and food products.
It is noted that the same route through Iranian ports can be used to cheaply and without sanction risks send goods to Pakistan, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
It was previously reported that Russia and Iran are building a trade route around western sanctions. The route, with a length of 3 thousand kilometers, will consist of river and railway routes through the Volga, the Sea of Azov and the Caspian Sea. The countries are investing over $20 billion to facilitate the movement of goods along water and railway routes.
