Yandex N.V. (the parent company of the group) has submitted a report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. It states that Yandex's staff increased by 16% over the year, with the company now employing 20.9 thousand people. At the same time, the number of employees working abroad tripled in 2022, reaching 1.7 thousand people.
Although Yandex's headquarters are located in Moscow, the company is actively developing various areas in different countries. For example, in Africa, several European countries, the Middle East, and South America, the company is developing a taxi service under the Yango brand; in Turkey, search and navigation; in the USA and Israel, online education, etc.
Last year, Forbes wrote that after the start of military operations in Ukraine, about a hundred Yandex employees moved to Armenia, and the company even had to look for a large space in Yerevan so that all those who left could work in one place. Also, in the summer of 2022, Yandex opened a hub in Serbia for 700 employees.
