The American military magazine Military Watch called the modernized frigate of Project 1155M ("Marshal Shaposhnikov"), equipped with hypersonic "Zircon" missiles, the most formidable weapon of Russia.
«Despite the fact that the Project 1155M frigate was not originally designed for anti-ship purposes, thanks to the "Zircons" alone, it is capable of neutralizing the entire surface strike group without the need to use other weapons,» Military Watch notes.
The article notes that the ship has been significantly improved since 2017, and this applies not only to weapons, but also, for example, to electronics. Well, the inclusion of "Zircon" in the arsenal was called the most thoughtful innovation.
"Marshal Shaposhnikov" was launched on December 27, 1984, and put into operation on February 2, 1986. The armament includes two Kinzhal air defense systems (64 SAMs).
