Goodbye, cheap Land Cruisers and Camrys? Japan may ban the export of used cars to Russia

And not only cars, but many other goods

The Group of Seven countries are considering new restrictions against Russia. Reportedly, Japan, which is a member of the G7, may completely block the supply of cars to Russia. The supply of expensive cars (priced from 45 thousand dollars) from Japan to Russia is already prohibited, but the new restrictions will be wider - they will include all cars in general, including used ones.

Japan is also considering banning the supply of tires, clothing, cosmetics and other consumer goods to Russia. By and large, if all this is implemented, then exports from Japan to Russia will almost stop.

Interestingly, the possible new restrictions against Russia are criticized in Japan itself. Here's what Kyodo writes about this: «If the Japanese government does not limit itself to the current (ban) on luxury cars, extending it to passenger cars and used cars, this will affect enterprises within Japan and the economy of Japanese regions».
