The countries of the "Big Seven" are considering projects of new restrictions against Russia. As reported, Japan, which is a member of the G7, could completely block exports of cars to Russia. Shipments of expensive cars (priced at 45,000 dollars) from Japan to Russia are already banned, but the new restrictions will be broader – they will include all cars, including used ones.
Japan is also considering banning the export to Russia of tires, clothing, cosmetics, and other consumer goods. Basically, if all of this is implemented, exports from Japan to Russia will virtually stop.
Interestingly, in Japan itself, possible new restrictions against Russia are criticized. Here's what Kyodo writes about it: «If the Japanese government does not limit the current (ban) on luxury vehicles, expanding it to passenger and used ones, it will affect businesses within Japan and the economy of Japanese regions».
