In Russia, no decision has yet been made for 2023 on subsidizing transportation in the summer, as it was last year, and based on this, the Ministry of Transport predicts an increase in ticket prices and a decrease in the number of flights.
«The thing is, we have not yet approved the allocation of subsidies this year in analogy with 2022: as you remember, it was 100 billion rubles. In this regard, we expect that there may be an increase in the cost of transportation by approximately 15 to 30%. Accordingly, there may be a decrease in the number of flights», – said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Igor Chalyk.
But Rosaviatsiya, on the contrary, expects an increase in the number of flights and, accordingly, passenger traffic within the Russian Federation.
«As for domestic transportation, we plan to transport 81.9 million passengers within the country», – said Deputy Head of Rosaviatsiya Vladimir Poteshkin at a meeting of the Ministry of Economic Development. Last year, domestic passenger traffic amounted to 77.7 million people, therefore, according to Rosaviatsiya's calculations, it may increase by 5% this year.
