In Russia, the decision has not yet been made for 2023 to subsidize transportation during the summer, as it was last year, and based on this the Ministry of Transport forecasts an increase in ticket prices and a decrease in the number of flights.
«The thing is that the allocation of subsidies similar to 2022 has not yet been approved this year: as you remember, it was 100 billion rubles. In connection with this, we expect, there may be an increase in the cost of transportation from 15 to 30%. Accordingly, there may be a reduction in the number of flights», - said the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Igor Chalik.
In contrast, the Federal Air Transport Agency expects an increase in the number of flights and, accordingly, passenger traffic within the Russian Federation.
«As for domestic transportation, we are planning 81.9 million for passenger transportation within the country», – said the Deputy Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Vladimir Poteshkin at the Ministry of Economic Development meeting. Last year, domestic passenger traffic was 77.7 million people, therefore, this year, according to the Federal Air Transport Agency's estimates, it may increase by 5%.
