AvtoVAZ at the dealer presentation in Sochi showed the "latest" crossover Lada X-Cross 5. The photo and details were published on his Telegram channel by the chief editor of the publication "Behind the Wheel" Maxim Kadakov.
In the AvtoVAZ lineup, this is indeed a new model, but the auto manufacturer itself has nothing to do with its creation: in fact, X-Cross 5 is the Chinese crossover FAW Bestune T77, just with a recognizable Lada logo. Its production will be set up over several months at the former Russian Nissan plant in St. Petersburg.
The X-Cross 5 will be assembled as the "Moskvichs 3" - by the method of large-scale assembly from Chinese car kits, then conveyor production will be launched. Under the hood of the Lada X-Cross 5 will be a 1.5-liter turbo engine (in the Chinese specification it produces 160 hp, but in the Russian specification the power may be slightly less), which will work in tandem with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed "robot". Drive is exclusively front.
