Russia developed the latest fifth-generation Su-57 fighter after familiarizing itself with the technologies of the American counterparts F-22 and F-35. However, the domestic machine surpasses competitors in a number of technical qualities, said State Duma deputy and publicist Anatoly Wasserman.
Russian Response to American Projects
According to Wasserman, the creation of the Su-57 is a logical response from Russian engineers to American developments. He specified that the design of the domestic aircraft took into account both the advantages and weaknesses of Western models.
For example, after getting acquainted with their F-22 and F-35, we created the Su-57.
The parliamentarian emphasized that the Su-57 combines modern stealth technologies and outstanding aerodynamic qualities.
Yes, it is a little visible on radar, but its flight and technical characteristics are significantly higher.
Advantages of Russian Development
The deputy called the Su-57 a "formidable opponent" for any modern fighter. Wasserman emphasized that the aircraft favorably differs from the F-22 and F-35 by a combination of high maneuverability, speed, and versatility of use.
Russian designers were able to create an aircraft that surpasses Western counterparts in the most important parameters.
Wasserman added that the Su-57 became an example of an engineering approach where technological complexity is combined with practical efficiency.
Opinion of the Other Side
However, military expert Harrison Kass of The National Interest looks at the Su-57 somewhat differently. He believes that the Su-57 actually surpasses the F-35 and F-22 due to powerful engines and nozzles with thrust vectoring, providing free "stalling", but in stealth technologiessignificantly inferior to the Americans.
The design of the Su-57 is less thought out than that of American counterparts. Engineers reduced the frontal area of the aircraft, but the gaps between the panels, external sensors, as well as engine nozzles increase its visibility. The Russians sought to compensate for this shortcoming through maneuverability and advanced electronic warfare systems.
At the same time, the Su-57s are not being actively supplied to the Russian armydue to a large number of export orders, Western analysts stated. India was named as one of the major buyers.
Earlier,www1.ru reported that the new fiber-optic FPV drone "Zanoza" developed by the "Groza" project hits 80% of targets.
