The editors of "First Technical" continue their good tradition and offer you a film to watch on the weekend. This week we recommend the film "Sky". The film is based on the tragic events of autumn 2015. Military pilots Oleg Peshkov and Konstantin Murakhtin were performing a combat mission in Syria as part of an anti-terrorist operation. Their Su-24 aircraft was shot down by Turkish aviation, after which the pilots ejected. Murakhtin was rescued, and Peshkov became a victim of terrorists who shot him while landing.
The creators of the film made maximum efforts to authentically reproduce the events associated with this military operation. Key roles in the film were played by actors such as Igor Petrenko, Ivan Batarev and Maria Mironova.
The main stages of the filming process took place in Crimea. In addition, the film crew worked on locations in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Lipetsk and directly in Syria.
Cinematographers tried not to resort to computer graphics where possible. As a result, in all the spectacular scenes, cars were really blown up and shelled with the use of pyrotechnics. The planes and helicopters in the frame are also real, including during taxiing and take-off. Only the episodes in the sky were made using graphics, but even in them, according to the director, the authors of the picture tried to maintain documentary accuracy. To do this, the team, with the help of military pilots, repeated the route of Peshkov and Murakhtin on real simulators.
We recorded the geography of the place where the events took place, we flew the entire route that the crew took that day. And they flew along this route as it was. With the permission of the Ministry of Defense, we took information from these simulators, which includes not just the geography of movement or the choreography of movement. There, any winglet, any movement, any vibration of the wing and winglet - everything is saved.
Su-24 aircraft and Mi-35M helicopters were involved in the filming of the film, providing the main part of the aerial scenes.
Mi-35M is a Russian all-weather transport and combat helicopter developed at the Mil Design Bureau, an improved version of the Mi-24V helicopter. Serial production began in 2005 at the Rostvertol plant.
Su-24 is a Soviet and Russian front-line supersonic bomber with a variable sweep wing. It is designed to deliver missile and bomb strikes against ground and surface targets, including at low altitudes.
The death of Oleg Peshkov became a symbol of heroism and self-sacrifice of Russian soldiers participating in the anti-terrorist operation in Syria. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation. The memory of him is immortalized in the names of streets and schools, and his feat serves as an example of courage and devotion to duty.
