The Russian military has been spotted using the exclusive Soviet protected vehicle "Ladoga," capable of operating even in conditions of radioactive contamination. The chassis is covered with additional rubber-fabric screens for protection against drones.
Works Even in a Nuclear Nightmare
The highly protected transport vehicle (VTS) "Ladoga" was created in the 1980s on the basis of the T-80 tank at the "Transmash" design bureau, now "Spetsmash." The "nuclear apocalypse" vehicle can operate in conditions of radiation, bacteriological, and chemical contamination.
The VTS is equipped with effective air conditioning and life support systems. The vehicle also received night and day observation devices.
Powerful Engine
The mobility of the "Ladoga" is provided by a powerful gas turbine engine with a capacity of 1250 hp.
In 1986, the VTS was used during the liquidation of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Presumably, the "Ladoga" is currently used as a heavy armored personnel carrier (APC), which accommodates six passengers.
Technical characteristics of VTS "Ladoga":
- Crew — 2 чел
- Weight — 42 т
- Cabin capacity — 4 чел
- Operating autonomy — 48 ч
- Engine — ГТД-1250
- Specific power — about 30 hp/t
- Range — 350 km
- Additional power unit, type, power — ГТД, 18 кВт
- Speed — 70 km/h
Small Series
According to various sources, the "Ladoga" was built in a small series. During the 80s, no more than 4-5 such vehicles were produced, including a prototype for testing in different regions of the country. Unfortunately, detailed information about the construction and operation of such equipment, with the exception of the появившихся кадров, is not yet available.
From time to time, various fragmentary information appears about the operation or basing of such equipment, but it is not possible to form a complete picture.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Italian F-35s "intercepted" Russian Su-33 and Su-24.
