Russia has modernized the "Orlan-10" drone, presenting its "Orlan-10E" version for the Asian market. The UAV has proven the effectiveness of performing reconnaissance tasks in combat conditions, writes military expert Octavio Diez Camara in an article for the Defensa publication.
The "Orlan-10E" received a gyro-stabilized platform equipped with an optoelectronic system operating in the infrared range. It records the thermal signatures of enemy military equipment.
Depending on the configuration, the UAV is equipped with various modules, including a laser transmitter. It probably serves to guide and measure the distance to the target.
Characteristics of "Orlan-10E":

- Flight range — up to 120 km with radio communication support, up to 500 km — in autonomous mode
