Most Chinese cars are equipped with 1.5-liter turbo engines designed for a mileage of no more than 250 thousand kilometers. This is reflected in the standard warranty for cars, said Alexander Nosko, head of the service department of the Fresh automobile marketplace. At the same time, Chinese cars often break down even in the middle of the warranty period.
At 100 thousand kilometers, 1.5-liter Chinese engines often fail sensors and ignition coils, oil leaks and fogging appear. At 200 thousand kilometers of mileage, there is a high risk of increased engine oil consumption, the problem is in the hardened valve stem seals, oil also gets into the turbine.
However, thanks to the use of a cast-iron block, Chinese engines are considered more durable compared to European counterparts made of aluminum. Cast iron blocks are less prone to overheating and retain their geometric shape for a long time.
Chinese manufacturers, guided by marketing considerations, often advise using AI-92 gasoline for engines. However, this fuel is more prone to detonation than high-octane AI-95, which leads to a decrease in engine power and a reduction in its service life.
It is recommended to change the oil approximately every 7000 km of mileage. It is important to consider the oil class, since small-displacement engines with high power can prematurely ignite fuel at low speeds. Not all oils are able to prevent this phenomenon, Nosko noted.

Most of them — 82.6% — were produced last year. Only 17.4% of cars were new. This year was the weakest in the last two decades.
