About OTR-23 "Oka"

The operational-tactical missile system was developed by specialists from the Kolomna Machine-Building Design Bureau. According to NATO classification, OTR-23 Oka is SS-23 Spider.

The system was adopted in 1983. It was produced at the Votkinsk Machine-Building Plant in Udmurtia. The military leadership of the USSR decommissioned the OTR-23 Oka after the conclusion of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) with the United States.
