Грязи не боятся: раскрыты возможности новейшего Т-72Б3М с дизельным двигателем В-92С2Ф

The vehicle confidently overcomes fords in off-road conditions

The deeply modernized T-72B3M tanks of the 2022 model year have gained new running capabilities compared to earlier T-72B3s due to being equipped with a V-92S2F diesel engine with 1130 hp manufactured by "ChTZ-Uraltrak" (part of "Uralvagonzavod"). This was pointed out by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

He noted that the engine has a power-to-weight ratio of 24.5 hp/t and a stable speed of up to 76-78 km/h with the possibility of short-term acceleration up to 84 km/h, provided there are no developed anti-cumulative "visors."

The vehicle overcomes ascents and fords in off-road conditions much more "vigorously" and has almost the same high dynamic qualities as the T-80BVM tank with Kaluga gas turbine power plants GTD-1250 with 1250 hp.

In addition, the updated tank received elements of dynamic protection (DZ) 4S24 "Relikt", covering the side and rear armor plates of the turret, and two elements of DZ "Kontakt-5", covering the sector of the 2A46M-5 gun mask.

It is quite obvious that the T-72B3M ammunition will be replenished with 125-mm remotely detonated ZOF82 "Telnik" shells for more effective counteraction against enemy infantry in fortifications, lightly armored vehicles, and enemy UAVs.

T-72B3M is a modernized version of the T-72B3 tank, which received a new sighting system with a digital display, as well as a rear-view television camera.

In addition, the tank was equipped with a new 125 mm caliber gun with increased barrel life, a Sosna-U multi-channel gunner's sight, a new R-168-25U-2 "Aqueduct" VHF radio station, and new fire-fighting equipment.

Earlier www1.ru reported that specialists from the repair and restoration units of the Russian army are creating buggies for assault units. They took the GAZ-66 truck as a basis.
