Footage has appeared online demonstrating the high dynamic characteristics of a modification of the T-80U gas turbine tank with a GTD-1250 engine and one of the most protected cast turrets in the history of domestic tank construction.
According to data from open sources, the resistance of the frontal projection of the turret to kinetic projectiles is up to 780 mm. In sectors with the largest physical dimensions of the frontal plates of the turret, the resistance to APFSDS, taking into account the elements of the 4S22 Kontakt-5 dynamic protection kits, can reach 860 - 930 mm, and to cumulative effects - up to 1150 mm.
Although the combat vehicle is not equipped with the most advanced Buran-PA thermal imaging sight for the gunner, with a tank detection range of 1500 m at night, as well as a 2A46M-1 gun, this is enough for combat skirmishes with Leopard-2A4 and PT-91 Twardy MBTs in urban areas or mixed terrain.
Also, anti-cumulative grids are visible on the protective screens of the sides of the vehicle's hull, providing a partial anti-tandem effect on the cumulative charges of anti-tank guided missiles.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Indian became interested in the Russian Voronezh-DM radar: it will detect ballistic missiles and even stealth fighters.
