Admiralty Shipyards (part of USC) launched the ice-class patrol ship Nikolai Zubov, Project 23550 (Arctic code).
The contract between the Ministry of Defense and Admiralty Shipyards for the construction of a series of two ice-class patrol ships of Project 23350 was signed in April 2016.
"Nikolai Zubov" is designed to protect Arctic water resources, towing and escorting detained vessels to port, supporting and escorting supply vessels. In addition, it has the ability to engage coastal, maritime and aerial targets.
The main crew is 49 people, the additional crew is 47 people. The armament of the patrol icebreaker includes an automatic 76.2-mm AK-176MA artillery mount. In addition, it is possible to place eight Kalibr-K cruise missiles and/or Uran anti-ship missiles in containers.
