Aurus has opened pre-orders for the updated Senat — the price starts from 48.5 million rubles, and the final price for buyers will average 51–52 million. This is comparable to the new Bentley Continental GT and Rolls-Royce Ghost. A special showing took place at VDNKh in the Museum of the Special Purpose Garage (GON).

Outwardly, the sedan has changed subtly: matrix LED headlights received an L-shaped stroke of daytime running lights and adaptive adjustment, and the taillights received LEDs. The geometry of the radiator grille and aluminum hood has been redesigned: vertical lamellas are separated by wider gaps. Four new options for alloy wheels have been added.
Inside, there is a new multimedia interface with a large touchscreen and voice assistant, a digital rearview mirror, night vision systems, a surround view system, and a driver fatigue monitoring system.
The mechanical transmission selector has been replaced with an electronic one, seat control units have been moved to the door panels, and a touchscreen for climate, audio system, and seat position has appeared in the rear armrest. Personalization will cost up to an additional 10 million rubles.
The technology remains the same: a hybrid based on a 4.4-liter V8 engine with 598 hp, an electric motor with 62 hp, and a nine-speed automatic transmission of domestic production. All Aurus models are developed at the NAMI engineering center on the Unified Modular Platform (EMP). Special versions are produced at NAMI facilities, and small-scale production has been ongoing since 2021 at the Yelabuga site next to the Sollers group facilities.
Aurus is the first Russian luxury brand, but it has to compete with Bentley and Rolls-Royce, which have a century of history. For 50 million, a buyer chooses not only a car but also status. The company does not disclose production and sales volumes, repeating: we are talking about tens and hundreds of cars. For comparison: Rolls-Royce at its peak sold 314 cars in Russia in 2021. Initially, the production of the updated Senat was planned to be launched before the end of 2024, but the deadlines have been shifted.
Users in the comments argue: some confuse the Senat with the Senat 900 model, which was indeed based on the Hongqi H9, while others remind that the Senat itself is a NAMI development on its own platform. Claims are made about the central console, which is called cheap, and the welcome animation of the headlights. For a luxury brand, such feedback is a signal: for 50 million, a buyer expects perfection, not controversial design.
