Russian military began receiving the first tanks of the T-80U-M1 "Bars" modification. The combat vehicle is notable for its built-in "Relikt" reactive armor on the upper frontal part and massive side screens, reported "Voenny Osvedomitel".

For mobility, the tank was presumably equipped with a GTD-1250G gas turbine engine with a hydrostatic transmission. Instead of levers, the driver received a steering column. The Plisa thermal imaging sight is responsible for firing.
The effectiveness of the machine's modernization should be higher than that of the T-80BVM tank.
Recall that the prototype passed state tests in 2005. Design documentation was approved for serial production. But due to lack of funding from the Russian Ministry of Defence, the tank was never put into service.
Tanker with 20 years of experience, Major Andrey Bestemyanov explained that the T-80BVM did not go into the past, despite the era of attack drones.
