The modernized strategic missile carrier Tu-95MSM has received functions that were not previously primary for the bomber. Thanks to new onboard radio-electronic equipment (avionics), the machine can "see the invisible".
A representative of the development company noted that the new avionics include observation systems in different ranges - ground, sea and air.
This missile carrier can perform observations, information processing on board and post-flight processing in the interests of the military. We believe that this data will be necessary for other military command bodies.
It should be noted that previously the Tu-95MS used the Obzor-MS radar station, which was replaced by the latest Novella-NV1.021, according to Voennoye Obozreniye.
Earlier it became known that the updated Tu-95MSM achieved the ability to perform flight stages along a programmed route without pilot intervention.
