Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom, tested the Russian electric car Atom during the industry's Electromobility Day in Moscow. After several laps around the track, he noted the car's responsiveness and dynamics, as well as the unusual digital solutions in the cabin, where the familiar instrument cluster is replaced by a touchscreen on the steering wheel and a head-up display on the windshield.

The head of the state corporation specifically highlighted the car's digital concept. Developers position Atom as a smart gadget on wheels. According to Likhachev, some solutions still need getting used to, but he liked the idea itself.

Instead of the familiar instrument cluster, Atom uses a touchscreen on the steering wheel, and some information is projected onto the windshield using an AR HUD system. Speed, driving mode, route, notifications, and multimedia information are projected into the driver's field of vision. The idea is for the driver to be able to get the necessary information without looking away at a separate screen in the cabin.

At the same time, the further development of the car will also depend on customer demands. Likhachev said that the Kama company is creating a universal platform on the basis of which cars with different body types can be produced. Currently, it is about a mid-range city car, and possible additional model range options will be determined taking into account user feedback.

The head of Rosatom suggested paying special attention to young drivers. According to him, the ideas about a dream car among the older generation and today's eighteen-year-olds differ significantly. Therefore, when developing the model, it is important for developers to take into account the needs of young motorists.
