Vostochno-Sibirskaya Neftogazovaya Kompaniya applied a two-string design during the construction of an oil production well at the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field. Rosneft reported that the new scheme for these geological conditions allowed for the isolation of a large gas cap interval with an extended production casing string instead of the previously used additional third string.
The work was carried out at the Namakar deposit, where the gas reservoir thickness reaches 100 meters. The new design uses two casing strings, one of which has an increased length. According to the company, it is this string that allows for the isolation of the gas part of the deposit during the construction of an oil well.
Rosneft estimates a potential reduction in construction time of five days, and an economic effect of up to 40 million rubles per well. These figures are the company's calculations and have not yet received independent confirmation.
The positive results of the pilot industrial operations are planned for use in further drilling at the Namakar deposit. Rosneft expects to apply the two-string design to 20 more planned wells.
