Specialists from STEKCOM company installed a KNS Z10MK4 antenna system (VSAT satellite communication station) with an 8 W transmitter on the multifunctional tug-rescuer Sivuch (part of the FGBU Morspassluzhba fleet). Thanks to the new equipment, the vessel's crew will gain access to high-speed internet and stable voice communication in any navigation area, including the Arctic, the press service of the Russian satellite communication operator reported.

The installation of KNS Z10MK4 on board the tugboat was approved by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. The VSAT station meets safety requirements for marine vessels. The system provides reliable data transmission for operational exchange of telemetry, documentation, and video.
The antenna is designed for operation in high latitudes, which are characterized by low temperatures and limited satellite visibility on the horizon. Where traditional communication channels are unavailable, VSAT satellite technologies help. They eliminate 'blind spots' along the entire route of the vessel.
