Ozon, Wildberries, and other marketplaces have transformed into a new media: Russians spend up to 9% of their internet time on them. This was announced by a Mediascope representative at the Yenisei-2026 media forum in Krasnoyarsk. Users over 12 years old spend 4 hours and 5 minutes online.

In absolute terms, people aged 35–55 spend about 30 minutes a day on online shopping. For age groups 45–54 and 55–64, the 'Stores' category accounts for 9% of all internet time, and for 35–44 year olds, it's 8%. Platforms are developing entertainment components, creating thematic services and activities, so users stay longer.

Marketplaces are taking time away from social media and video, although those still lead. For advertisers, this is a new platform with a ready audience and clear purchases. For the platforms themselves, it's an opportunity to earn not only from commissions but also from attention.
