MTS has launched the 'My Voice' function: the voice secretary copies the subscriber's voice and speech style. The answering machine answers missed calls with a voice that the user assigns to it through the operator's mobile application. This is the first such experience in the Russian telecommunications market, TASS was told by the company.

To connect, the subscriber needs to record a short speech sample. AI algorithms will process the recording, taking into account individual patterns and speech characteristics. VoiceTech technologies allow the secretary to reproduce the manner of speech, rather than synthesize an impersonal standard voice. For now, the function operates in test mode on a limited base of MTS Secretary subscribers.

Previously, the answering machine would give a templated phrase, and the caller understood they were speaking with a machine. Now the secretary sounds like the number owner themselves — this changes the perception of a missed call. Scammers may also try to use voice forgery, but MTS emphasizes: the recording is made by the subscriber themselves and only for their own secretary. Later, the function will be opened to all users of the solution.
