A new unique drug for the treatment of dermatoses complicated by bacterial and fungal infections has been patented by Ural scientists. Specialists from the Ural Research Institute of Dermatovenereology and Immunopathology (UrNIIDViI) and the Institute of Organic Synthesis of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences worked on the development.

Two components formed the basis. Glycerohydrogel, created by chemists of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, delivers the active substance to the deep layers of the skin and itself has antimicrobial and antifungal effects. The second component is a topical glucocorticosteroid, a hormonal agent for external use, which was almost not used in Russia as part of ointments.

The composition relieves inflammation, fights bacteria and fungi, and reduces the risk of microorganism resistance to treatment. The next stage is clinical trials. The patent was issued without comments from Rospatent experts.

Professor Muza Kokhan, author of more than 40 patents, calls the development one of the most significant in her work.
