The company "RT-Proektnye Tekhnologii" of the Rostec State Corporation is demonstrating TopBat batteries at the "INNOPROM. Belarus" exhibition. This was reported to "Pervy Tekhnichesky" by the Rostec press service.

The batteries operate at temperatures from -50 to +50 degrees, withstand deep discharges without critical power loss, and their service life is designed for decades. This combination of characteristics allows them to be used in both civilian and military equipment.

What's in the lineup

TopBat includes lead-acid batteries with reinforced plates (EFB), batteries with fiberglass holding the electrolyte (AGM, AQUA AGM), as well as power sources with absorbent mats and gel (AGEL). The product was created in cooperation with the scientific and production enterprise "Impuls" and is mass-produced.

Sanctions and the refusal of Western manufacturers to cooperate did not become an obstacle for us. Full-fledged analogues have been created in Russia that are superior in characteristics and on average 40% cheaper than foreign batteries of the same class. Our production capacities currently exceed 2 million batteries per year and will be expanded. The crash test we conducted before the exhibition in Belarus clearly demonstrates the quality and reliability of these products. I think our Belarusian partners will appreciate such a resilient power source.
Vasily Zuykov, General Director of "RT-Proektnye Tekhnologii"

How they were tested

TopBat AGM batteries were submerged in an aquarium, burned, drilled with a drill, cut with an electric saw, and shot with small arms, piercing the power source with a dozen bullets. Even in a mangled state, the battery showed a charge and allowed a car to start.

The peculiarity of AGM technology is the absence of liquid electrolyte. It is absorbed by special fiberglass "sponges," so even with through damage to the casing, it does not leak out, and the power source continues to operate.
