Russian air defense crews, including Pantsir-S, have made additions to their work with the acquisition of new combat experience in repelling attacks by Flamingo missiles and drones. This was reported by Izvestia.
Journalist Alexander Safiullin did not specify what kind of additions are being discussed. The commander of the ZRPK crew with the call sign Barnaul told him about one of the combat episodes involving Flamingo. According to him, first, drone marks appeared on the crews' screens, and about 10 seconds later, a high-speed target.
At 3:50, I detected the first mark: it was a drone — I destroyed it, then the second, third, fourth, fifth.
Another serviceman added that one of the features of cruise missiles is a combination of high speed and low flight altitude.
180-200 m/sec, which allows them to hide behind the terrain, behind various folds and, accordingly, emerge at the most inopportune moment.
Earlier it became known that the Pantsir-S1M air defense systems in the Moscow region received new short-range TKB-1055 Gvozd missiles to protect against drones. A package of four such missiles is installed instead of one standard 57E6 missile.
