Denis Kachanov, an 11th-grade medical student at Moscow School No. 1158, has developed an experimental solution with fonturacetam for nasal administration. This was reported by the press service of the capital's Department of Education and Science.

Fonturacetam is a nootropic agent usually taken orally. The main problem was the low solubility of the substance in water. The schoolboy selected additional components and obtained a clear, homogeneous solution without sediment.

How it was tested

Tests were conducted at the K. M. Lakin Scientific and Educational Institute of Pharmacy of the Russian State Medical University. Researchers compared two methods of administration: nasal and oral. At a high dose, the results were comparable. At a lower dose, the effect was maintained, and motor activity with nasal administration was higher.

The data obtained are considered a basis for further study of this method of drug administration.
